Economic Affairs Officer, UNECE

 

Mikael Román is a Swedish native working as project coordinator of the “UNECE Transformative Innovation Network” (ETIN), a peer learning platform that supports and fosters innovation to drive sustainable societal transformations.

A social scientist by training, Mikael spent his career working on issues related to sustainability, climate change, public policy, innovation, and competitive strategies. In this pursuit, he worked for four years (2006-2010) as a Senior Research Fellow at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI). Between 2011 and 2018, he was a Science Counsellor at the Embassy of Sweden in Brazil. Before entering UNECE he worked as Senior Analyst at the Swedish Agency for Growth Policy Analysis.
