VAXA was founded in 2017 as a Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) company in Reykjavík, Iceland. CEA is the method of growing plants inside a controlled environment that structures mainly around greenhouses and vertical indoor farms. Today a variety of lettuce types, herbs, micro greens and specialty greens are grown by VAXA.  

VAXA is the second largest local brand and producer of greens in Iceland and its products are sold in grocery chains of the country.  Numerous restaurants have VAXA on their menus, ranging from fast food chains to Michelin star restaurants and five-star hotels.
